Creation

When Nosferatu approached Milantha for her aid in the war against the shades, she readily agreed to assist him. Remembering her own creation, she decided compassion would be the greatest weapon in the good fight.

For months Kantara travelled the world, gathering the ingredients necessary to create her race. For hair she gathered the silk from one of the creation's plants, for skin she gathered the soft, shimmering surface of one of the lesser gems, and for eyes she gathered water from the coolest, deepest pool. She continued in this manner until all of the necessary ingredients were assembled. She constructed a tiny form from all of these sources. She looked upon her creation and it was good -- but not good enough. The final ingredient, compassion, was still needed. Remembering the pain of Nosferatu at her own birth, she decided to give her creation this final ingredient from her own self. Cutting her wrist, she let one drop of blood fall into the mouth of her creature, staining its lips a dark red. She then commanded it to awake. Thus, the sprites were created.

Appearance

Sprites are very tiny. At adulthood, they are the size of the other races' babies. They have long, slender limbs and are very thin. Their wings are broad and delicate and are attached to their backs by powerful and tireless muscles. Their hair is fine and straight and may be of any light colour, including pastel shades. Their bodies are opalescent, with the exception of their eyes and lips which are pale blue and crimson red, respectively.

Abilities

Sprites are very wise and agile creatures. Since they are frail, they are not very suitable for war. Their innate wisdom and compassion, however, make them competent magic-users and superb clerics. They have superb self-healing and are capable of natural flight.

Interactions

A sprite's primary trait is compassion for all creatures, including shades. Although their compassion for shades might at first glance seem odd, they know that such a great evil may only be defeated by kindness and acts of selflessness. They are friendly with all races except Titans and are not openly hostile even to them. Rather, they love to tease the Titans and play harmless pranks on them because they are so stupid.

Of Kivekia

Sprites do not exist anywhere within the continents of Kivekia. However, there is a race that makes its home within the Trunir forest that bear some resemblance, in terms of abilities as well as appearance.
