The MUD we always wanted to play

Game Rules

These are provided out of character, and are to be followed without question. Those who act against these rules risk punishments from simply being frozen out to deletion and permanent banning.

• Player killing is allowed, but should be done only for in character reasons. If you start behaving out of character and killing players, someone will soon complain about you and you will find yourself being removed. Newbies (up to level 10) should not be killed under any circumstances. Note there are hard coded restrictions on attacking players of a significantly lower level than yourself

• We like having lots of players, but any disruption of gameplay, or refusal to accept the authority of immortals will result in punishment. Deletion of players requires no reason or notice and once it has been done, no appeals will be entertained. If you don't like it, then you are welcome to leave. Chances are, if this sort of extreme punishment is performed, no one will have any problem with this.

• Leaving yourself idle in the game is a bad idea. No response to immortals will lead to the immortal doing as he/she pleases with you, and some immortals can be very creative. Use AFK if you have to, though logging off is preferable. This also applies to the use of triggers and other MUD client tools to keep yourself active. It is easy for an immortal to spot someone using triggers. As a rule, triggers interfere with game play and immortals will have great fun demonstrating this to you. They are not banned, but should be used in a sensible way.

• No multiple logins, multiple playing, or helping your own characters with other characters you own. Just because you can't see an immortal, doesn't mean there's not one around, so don't risk it. Multi-playing is rewarded with nothing less that deletion of all of your characters. This said, you are allowed to have more than one character, but they should not be involved with each other IC. If you know something with one character, then that does not mean all of your other characters know it also.

• No cussing, sexually explicit language or otherwise improper behaviour anywhere will be tolerated. We have hard-coded checks for certain language. If you are caught, be it by the code or by an immortal, deletion will be immediate.

• Compared to many MUDs, we have a lot less channels. This is simply for the reason that in character, it is not likely that you could call out so that everyone in the world could hear you. However, some channels are provided for communication to many people in the same area. Do not abuse these, and do not spam other players who may not be interested in what you have to say.

• Cheating will not be tolerated. This includes accepting excessive favors from gods and exploiting bugs. If you find a bug, report it, then do not use it. Similarly, deities being too generous should be reported. There are cases when Implementors may grant special rewards and favours, but they will be few and far between, so don't expect anything.

• Changes to these rules are at the discretion of the immortals, and may be done without warning, notice, or anything else.

• Please, please, if anything has been left out of these rules, use a little common sense. The immortals are (mostly) all friendly and patient, but don't push your luck.
