Of Kyderria

After the Great Wars: The Coming of Athyra

The dawn of a new age came to pass as Nosferatu saw that some form of peace came to his world. A new goddess came to wander in his lands. She was a peaceful being that was kind to all she met, yet Nosferatu saw a spark in her that he knew to be a fighting and wrathful spirit within. This spirit would only arise when the need for it would come. This new and mysterious goddess came to be known as Athyra. Nosferatu soon warmed up to her kindly spirit and let her dwell in his world. He took her under his wing and taught her the many mysteries of the world he had created.

The Birth of Humankind

After a century, or so, had passed, Nosferatu saw that the time was right to let Athyra create her own race of being. Athyra, being new to creation of anything, created a simple yet beautiful race. This race, known as humans, were of average height and build. They were peaceful being but after some time passed these humans evolved into many builds, colors, and heights. With that evolution, the human race also went different ways.. some being evil. Athyra went into despair over her kind race slowly being eaten away by evil. She made a vow to, with each creation of a new human, stay with the human and help him or her until they were of age to go out into the world on their own.

She hoped that this would help discourage evil. Nosferatu soon noticed this act of goodness and asked her to help all the newborn and young ones of each race until they reached manhood, or womanhood. She agreed to have such an honor and is, to this day, helping the young of every race.

Of Kivekia

Palatania's native parasites, humans moved from place to place across the generations, exhausting the natural resources, then moving on. When they first discovered their inherent magical abilities, they were petrified of it and turned to worshipping their god, Beta, fanatically. This religiosity waned over the centuries to come, as they realised their powers could be used for ungodly things, particularly in the many clashes with the Ossacan dwarves. Beta remains an important spiritual figure to many humans, however.

The dwarves, always looking for something new to profit from, found there to be a plentiful gold reserve on Palatania's western seaboard, and set about exploiting it. The humans, continuing their westward migration settled in this area to take advantage of the proximity of the sea.

Fearing Dwarven attack, they fortified their encampment, which was eventually established as the town of Ithcairn. There were numerous minor conflicts in the region, which most often led to stalemate, as humans and dwarves clashed wherever their interests clashed.

Ithcairn's position on the main trading routes (both land and sea) means it quickly became a town of many peoples, and prospered because of it. Humans are not so localised, and can be found in all corners of the world, yet remain the dominant race of Palatania.
