The MUD we always wanted to play Cleric"Koradrim slowly made his way into the stygian grand hallway which formed the entrance to the Tower of the Lich Lord. He removes his blade from its sheath, in preparation for whatever abominable creatures await in the depths of the tower. He makes his way through the halls, unaware of the perils which lie in wait for him. Without warning, two skeletons appear from the darkness ahead of him. They lift their maces in unison, ready to modify the shape of Koradrim's head. His blade flashes through the air, but the blows land on the adamantine bone with little apparent effect. He steps backwards, and finds himself with his back to a solid wall. Removing his helmet, Koradrim prepares for the coming of his death. A single strike, and Koradrim lies helplessly on the floor, the last vestiges of his vitality ebbing from his body. Yet, before the final blow can land, a curious keening sound emanates from behind the skeletons. A ray of blinding light skewers the skeletons, and their bones disintegrate in the dazzling radiance. Koradrim could just barely discern a robed figure, hair white with age, with his arms raised standing behind the skeletons, before he passed out from his grievous wounds. When Koradrim awoke, all that remained of the skeletons were their scraps of leather and weapons. He rubbed the spot on his head where the wound had been, and where there was now naught a scratch, and wondered if he would ever again meet the holy being who had saved his life." Clerics are a defensively orientated class. The majority of their spells focus on healing and defence; however, they do have some combat spells which can be effective in battle, especially against demonic or undead foes. Clerics are also passable as warriors. All Clerics begin with skill in the mace. Other weapon skills must be purchased at high prices.
